I am a handbag designer-I am comfortable using the leather of animals that are used for meat, if the animal was treated well, humane. like, (Idea#1: Recycled/Vintage leather, as you call it)
This using the whole animal thing has been around forever.
But what I am not comfortable with is using animal skins when you dont know how the animal was treated when it was alive. How do you find "free-range" animal skins to use for handbags? Sources are not exactly willing to give up this info...
